About Rebass

Rebass turns a git history into music. Each commit becomes one bar of a four-beat groove. A steady bass and pad ground the repo's key, while a lead voice plays a melody derived from each commit's SHA. A bell accents merges and long commit messages.

Different branches pan to different sides of the stereo field, so a branchy graph sounds like a busier ensemble; a linear history still sounds like a full arrangement because the bass and pad never stop.

The playhead walks the git graph on the left, a commit at a time. Click a commit to inspect it. Change instruments any time; they reload without stopping playback.
